Improving upon our best

Mock Interview Day 2025

On Thursday 20th March, our year 10 students took part in a mock interview with one of 32 employers who gave up their time from a variety of organisations including:
Harlow Leisurezone, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Ashton Roofing, Harlow District Council,
Potter Street Academy, Essex Police, Youth Offending Team, Harlow College, Hertford Regional College,
Bidfood, Open Reach, Bearingnet, Group 1 Auto, HTS, Octavius, Derrick Wade Waters and Princeps.
The students were prepared having completed a CV and practiced interview techniques within their I Future
lessons. The usual nerves were on display, however, our students turned up looking the part, dressed in suits and formal attire ready for the challenge ahead. Once again, they wowed our employers with their openness, positivity and enthusiasm! Our employers commented:
The students were a joy to interview, so articulate, with confident goals” - Harlow College
The young people of Passmores are amazing. They have a lot of confidence for people so young and they are very articulate” - Ashton Roofing
Cracking bunch of students” - Open Reach
What a pleasure meeting all the wonderful students today” - Youth Offending Team
Learners were very well prepared, excellent event and the quality of the CV’s were outstanding” - Hertford Regional College
Students were great with a good variety of interests” - Princeps

This is such an important day in our calendar, as it helps to prepare our young people for looking for an apprenticeship, college course or sixth form when they leave school next year. They were all given verbal feedback and will all be getting a feedback form with comments made by their employer, which hopefully they will reflect on to help them improve on how they sell themselves in the future to get the job they want and achieve their goals. They certainly made us proud!
Employers were asked to nominate one student who they would employ based on their performance at
interview. These will be announced in the end of year assembly and those chosen will receive a certificate.
